Heartfelt inspiration of a selfless man with a heart of a lion

alt tagOne day when Master Chang was coming home from a long day of training, he noticed that a young woman was being approached by three suspicious men. Not thinking about his own safety he walked towards them and asked if she was ok. Suddenly, the men started to attack. Master Chang took one of them down and continued to fight the other two simultaneously. The men realized they were no match for his skills and ran off. Master Chang walked the young lady home. With much appreciation she thanked him and explained that she never seen a martial artist move that way before.

Once Master Chang started thinking about the night's event, he realized he had something special. Combining the arts of Hapkido, Tae Kwon Do, Judo, Sirum, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Ground Wrestling/Grappling and Sil Jeon Keum Do (Stick Fighting), he began to develop a unique mixed martial art he called Sil Jeon Do . To this day he continues to develop new techniques with an emphasis on real world situations.

His first school opened in 1997 (having arrived in America in June 1990) where he introduced Sil Jeon Do. Within three years the growth and success of the school required larger facilities and moved to its current location in Hackensack, NJ.
